Streamline Educational Tech Upgrade Planning with Clarity’s Latest Feature

With the school year more than halfway complete, many school leaders are already wisely planning for technology needs in the upcoming academic year.

Between devices from the pandemic era that are nearing the end of their life to new Apple devices on the horizon – not to mention inflation impacting tech spending – now is the time for educational leaders to begin planning get an accurate valuation of their tech fleet to budget for a much-needed upgrade.

Our industry-leading team can identify pathways to enable schools to accomplish their tech refresh goals while realizing their longer-term vision to ensure high-quality devices are continuously available for staff and students now – and into the future.

Our MDM Partnerships are Just the Start

Last year Diamond Assets secured strategic MDM partnerships with Kandji, Mosyle, and most significantly, Jamf, which has provided our education clients access to Diamond Assets’ Clarity portal supercharged with these MDM’s industry-leading technology management tools – providing the ultimate tech buyback experience for school leaders.

The integrated platform enables schools access to a comprehensive real-time visual dashboard to allow educational leaders to make informed decisions about their technology fleet. In short: it allows schools to accelerate and simplify Apple device upgrade planning with an easy-to-use, more accurate, and faster decision-making tool

However, many schools may not have a pre-existing relationship with an MDM due to the relatively slower uptake of tech in schools compared to businesses up until the pandemic. School leaders don’t need to worry – thanks to Diamond Assets’ Clarity import feature, any school that needs real-time valuation of the devices in their fleet can easily receive it, regardless of having an MDM partnership.

Simplified School Asset Management – With Clarity

Our educational customers have experienced an effortless integration through Diamond Assets’ partnerships with Jamf, Kadji, or Mosyle through our Clarity platform.

But what if your school:

  • Doesn’t have an MDM partnership already, and are eager to easily value existing tech to budget for an upgrade for the upcoming academic year?
  • Already has an MDM partnership and needs to account for devices no longer tracked by an MDM, or need to integrate data from multiple MDM systems?

That’s where Clarity Device Import comes in, which is a new spreadsheet upload enhancement that allows a comprehensive view of your school’s fleet. Now, school leaders can easily download our pre-formatted Excel spreadsheet template, organize data from existing MDM systems or other sources, and upload back into Clarity to gain real-time information and status of the entire technology ecosystem.

That’s not all: this new feature works seamlessly alongside our MDM integrations on Clarity so schools have a comprehensive real-time view of their tech ecosystems – whether there’s an existing MDM partnership or not.

All that’s needed for this new Clarity enhancement is for school leaders to provide some specific data for the Apple devices in their fleet – from iPads to MacBooks to iMacs – in the Clarity-provided spreadsheet template, including:

  • Device serial number
  • The descriptive name assigned to the device by an MDM (if applicable)
  • Apple’s model identifier (e.g. Mac 14.9)
  • The storage capacity of the device, specified in GB or TB
  • The processor family (specific to Macs, e.g. Core i7)
  • The memory configuration of your device (specific to Macs)
  • Indicate whether the device had cellular capability

Now’s the time for Schools to Leverage Clarity’s Newest Enhancement

Clarity’s import feature allows schools to more easily toggle back and forth between different MDMs and have access to a real-time view of pricing, specs, the average age of devices, and their value.

Devices can be uploaded to Clarity to get valuation before decommissioning of devices – with or without an MDM-integration. Schools without an MDM integration can download the required information from Apple Business Manager as an Excel doc, then easily import the data into Clarity for the most updated quotes.

As new Apple devices come into the marketplace, having access to this level of device valuation through Clarity means that schools can start working now to truly maximize their ROI on outdated devices while investing in a new fleet for the next academic year!
